“The mysterious disappearance of the reluctant book fairy” by Elizabeth George – Book Review #bibliomysteries

THE-MYSTERIOUS-DISAPPEARANCE-OF-THE-RELUCTANT-BOOK-FAIRY-ELIZABETH-GEORGEI cannot deny that I requested this title from NetGalley solely because Elizabeth George wrote it.  I have long been a huge fan of this author, and feel that if she puts pen to paper – then the result is worth reading.

Far different from anything else I have ever read of hers, The mysterious disappearance of the reluctant book fairy was a charming delight.

A fairy tale for bibliophiles.

What book lover has not at one time or another wished that they could morph themselves into the pages of their favorite book?  Well, the protagonist of this quirky little novella can do just that!    As a sickly child, she escaped her sickbed by voraciously reading fiction.  As a side benefit, she discovers that she can actually immerse herself in whatever novel she is reading!  When others learn of her ‘power’ her adult life is taken over with the wishes of other readers who want to do the same.  Her fame has tired her out and left her with no free time of her own.  What is a book fairy to do?

I very much enjoyed this fanciful little story.  Thanks to Open Road Media via NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review it.
