How do you keep track of your TBR pile?
I predominantly use Goodreads. Since I’ve started reviewing for NetGalley, Edelweiss, TLC Book Tours, Gumshoe Review, and some others, I’ve also begun to use an Excel spreadsheet. Yikes! 92 review commitments to date.
Is your TBR mostly print or ebook?
My TBR is about 95% ebook (that is what I prefer when I’m reviewing). I do have a few print copies that have been waiting for my attention too.
A book that has been on your TBR pile the longest?
A title that I got from NetGalley, “The Alphabet House” by Jussi Adler-Olsen. I’m not sure why I’ve been putting it off unless it is because it is rather lengthy. Also, the titles with publishing deadlines and book tours seem to take precedence – which shunts this title to the end of the line. I MUST read this soon! I love the author’s Dept Q series, so wanted to give this standalone a try.
A psychological thriller set in World War II Nazi Germany and 1970s England.
A book you recently added to your TBR pile
“Redemption Road” by John Hart. I’ve read this author before and really enjoyed his work.
A literary thriller. A boy with a gun waits for the man who killed his mother.
A troubled detective confronts her past in the aftermath of a brutal shooting.
After thirteen years in prison, a good cop walks free. But for how long?
And deep in the forest, on the altar of an abandoned church, the unthinkable has just happened…
This is a town on the brink. This is a road with no mercy.
A book in your TBR with a beautiful cover
“Breaking Light” by Karin Altenberg
Steeped in its bleak and beautiful landscape, Mortford is a place of secrets and memories: of bitter divisions and shattered dreams. Returning to this Dartmoor village where he grew up, Gabriel attempts to come to terms with what he lost as a boy so long ago.
Slowly the mysteries hidden in this small community on the edge of the moors begin to unravel. But one of Gabriel’s memories remains sharper than all the others: that of his boyhood friend Michael, the tenderness of their first summers and the violent betrayal that destroyed it.
A book on your TBR that you never plan on reading
If it is on my TBR pile then I DO plan to read it someday… The mere fact that I have over a thousand titles on my Goodreads TBR just means that I’ll live a long time…. Right?
An unpublished book on your TBR that you are excited about
“Britt-Marie was here” by Fredrik Backman. I have loved his first two books and I’m sure his third will be just as special. His first book, “A Man called Ove” is one of my all-time favorite reads!
A heartwarming and hilarious story of a reluctant outsider who transforms a tiny village and a woman who finds love and second chances in the unlikeliest of places.
A book on your TBR that basically everyone’s read but you
“The Girl on the Train” by Paula Hawkins. I’m sure I’d love it, but right now I have too many review commitments to read a title that I have not promised to review…
A debut psychological thriller that will forever change the way you look at other people’s lives.
Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. “Jess and Jason,” she calls them. Their life—as she sees it—is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost.
And then she sees something shocking. It’s only a minute until the train moves on, but it’s enough. Now everything’s changed. Unable to keep it to herself, Rachel offers what she knows to the police, and becomes inextricably entwined in what happens next, as well as in the lives of everyone involved. Has she done more harm than good?
A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you
“The Kind Worth Killing“ by Peter Swanson
A devious tale of psychological suspense involving sex, deception, and an accidental encounter that leads to murder. This is a modern re-imagining of Patricia Highsmith’s classic, “Strangers on a Train”.
A book on your TBR that you are dying to read
“The Stopped Heart” by Julie Myerson (no pun intended! LOL)
A beautifully written, yet deeply chilling, novel of psychological suspense explores the tragedies—past and present—haunting a picturesque country cottage.
Mary Coles and her husband, Graham, have just moved to a cottage on the edge of a small village. The house hasn’t been lived in for years, but they are drawn to its original features and surprisingly large garden, which stretches down into a beautiful apple orchard. It’s idyllic, remote, picturesque: exactly what they need to put the horror of the past behind them.
A book that you have crossed off your TBR list recently that you really loved
“Black Rabbit Hall” by Eve Chase

I have the 1st in the Dept series by Jussi Adler-Olsen. I have it on my shelf though, I think I need to download it as I am 99% ereader now also.
I read A Man Called Ove, I almost DNF and was so happy I finished it in the end, it was a gem.
The Girl on the train made my list in same category also.
I can’t wait to read The Kind Worth Killing.
Enjoy your week.
