It would seem that spring has finally arrived in Nova Scotia!
I sincerely hope that everyone had a good Easter.
In April I was thrilled to be invited to read and review a new novel from Tony Black!
Over the past month I have received EIGHT new titles from NetGalley!
Despite my best intentions to not request from NetGalley until my review queue is under control (130 titles), I was VERY WEAK this month. A few publishers invited me to read their novels and they provided NetGalley widgets – then, when logging on to NetGalley to download those novels with their widgets I inadvertently saw a few more that I just had to have… Like I said, WEAK. It would seem that the elusive 80% badge is even more elusive than ever before. The good news? My 200 reviews badge is on the horizon.

Why I chose this one? I read a review by Jill at Jill’s Book Cafe. Blame her! No seriously, it is about a bookshop in York. Enough said!
Why I chose this one? I follow Barbara Coppertwaite‘s blog and have heard much praise for her work from my fellow bookbloggers. Just HAD to try one of her novels.
Why I chose this one? Catriona McPherson is one of my favorite authors. She seldom disappoints!
Why I chose this one? The author. Denise Mina is a marvel. Love, love, love her novels!
Why I chose this one? I read the blurb and just knew it was for me!
Why I chose this one? Duh! Rochester – Jane Eyre is my favorite classic novel! Also, the publisher invited me to review it.
Why I chose this one? The stunning cover and even more stunning description.
Why I chose this one? The setting/title of Malagash. Malagash is a small community in the province where I live. Our summer cottage is a brief half hour’s drive away…

Great looking TBR list! I’ve worked really hard at resisting NetGalley lately because I have so many on my shelf in the “older than 3 months” section and then there’s the rating battle, etc. I have cleared 8 off of my list since March and only requested 2-3 new ones, lol. I call that progress 🙂

Great progress I’d say! My aim now is to read the oldest NetGalley titles alternately with titles that are time sensitive. I have 59 titles in my “Older than 3 months” shelf… Gulp!

Ha! I may be one of those 81 people – can’t remember when I hit that follow button! All those titles sound captivating. Oh dear…. looks like my own list might be growing a bit too when you finally get to some of these 🙂

I suffer from the same sickness! But we’re not hurting anyone (well, except when I trip over a pile of books waiting for shelf space!)
I too really rate Catriona McPherson – Dandy and her standalones – and Denise Mina is probably my favourite author. I saw her talk about The Long Drop at Aye Write!, but I haven’t read it yet as I don’t feel like getting inside Peter Manuel’s head atm….!

Ha-ha. So true. At least we have the Goodreads group “NetGalley Addicts Support Group“. They don’t have the 12 step program, but you can vent a little. LOL
