September has always been my favourite month of the year. It is for that reason that I got married in September, and this year we will be celebrating our 40th wedding anniversary!
With cooler temperatures at night, and lovely warm days, September is the best!
I completed my #20booksofsummer challenge.
Just a few days until it’s over.
I am now reading #21 of 20
(blog post to follow with all the particulars)
I received only one title from NetGalley in August
I received “the Broken Girls” from Berkley via NetGalley. Simone St. James is an author I have never read before.
I received two titles via Edelweiss during the month of August.
I have never before read anything by Elisabeth Carpenter, but I have read some favorable reviews of this novel by some of my fellow bookbloggers:
AND…The late P.D. James is one of my favourite authors and I was very excited to see this title offered on Edelweiss!
I purchased the following FIVE books in Kindle format from Amazon.ca
Five books with my total expenditure = $ 8.96 Cdn.
I know… last of the big spenders. LOL
So only three more review commitments for August. I am valiantly trying to get my TBR under control and I’m working toward my 80% NetGalley badge. There have been many tempting titles listed on NetGalley recently, but until I get that danged 80% I refuse to request them. My ratio is now standing at 75%
I want to read The Broken GIrls, will wait for your review first! And then I might request ir or buy it 😀
P.S Everyone loves September…I prefer July haha

Congrats on completing your summer reading challenge! I’ve been debating setting some sort of challenge for myself, but I always missing the mark and then feeling awful about it. I envy your dedication!
Out of curiosity, how long did it take you to claw your way up to 75%? At what percentage did you decide to stop requesting? My NetGalley situation feels pretty dire at the moment, and I’m trying to set some rules for myself about requesting so that I can catch up a little. I don’t think I’ve ever made it past 67% and I’m WELL below that right now. Your commitment to getting your ratio under control is inspiring me. I feel a little like there should be a support group – NetGalley Addicts Anonymous (NGAA) – or something so those of us who have really buried ourselves can help prop each other up. 😉

Happy anniversary! Thank you for the shout out for my blog. I hope you like the book (no pressure). I am convinced NetGalley was created by an evil genius as it’s so tempting, Good luck at getting to 80%

congratulations on attaining 1900 followers! i’m still working on getting 1,000, but I see we have a couple other things more in common–that of working on getting that 80% with NetGalley. I got the ratio but not the badge yet. Also, totally agree with your view of Sept, tho we chose the 2nd for different reasons (between semesters and long Labor Day weekend). Ours will be 55. I can’t believe it, but yes, it’s been 5 years since we celebrated our 50th, almost as disastrous as the wedding. guess that is a good omen. congratulations on your 40th and here are wishes you’ll have many more as well.

Wow, lots of good things happening here. Congratulations on 40 years. Happy Anniversary to you both. I want to keep my requesting under control, but have not been able to do it yet. I only hover at 57% but they keep approving me. I have 2 more books to go for my 20 Books of Summer so probably won’t make it, but that’s okay. You did a great job, Congratulations. 1900 Followers! That is wonderful. I enjoy your blog very much, so keep doing what you are doing and have a wonderful September.
