Cover Love: part 42 – Railway tracks

The covers of novels entice the reader to enter a different world. Covers are, after all, the way the publisher hooks the reader into choosing one book over countless others.

In my forty-second installment of ‘Cover Love‘, I’d like to show you books that feature railway tracks on their covers.

A good idea for a novel’s cover. Railroad tracks give the feeling of other lives elsewhere, other experiences, journeys.  Like railway tracks, FICTION can take you to those other worlds and experience those other lives…

Tracks can lead you far from home OR they can bring you home again.

Some of the following books I’ve already read, some are on my ‘to read’ list,
and some I chose only for their covers.

Some, perhaps, will now be on your TBR!

Just click on the cover to read the book’s synopsis from  Goodreads.

You might just find your next favorite book!

Are you tempted by any of these covers?

If you have a few minutes visit any of the previous installments of

Cover Love – some of which I’ve updated recently

Wow, how did I miss this installment? These covers are so atmospheric! This has to be one of your best ever cover collections, Lynne. The ones calling to me the most are Housekeeping and 39 Steps. Absolutely love them. Many covers these days are so so boring. Not these…

Love the collection of railroad tracks….all different.
I’ve noticed lately that a lot of new covers seem to look somewhat alike (economizing by publishers???)

  3. Great selection! You’re amazing at finding so many books with a similar cover of train tracks, yet they all evoke something different, some look sinister, others hopeful and happy.

Seriously, where do you find all these?? 😀 A wonderful selection and I’m tempted by quite a few…train tracks, stations and fog are an evocative captivating mix.

    • Ha-ha Annika. I spend FAR too many hours amassing my little collections for my Cover Love series. I’m constantly on the lookout for covers that fit my categories. I’m working on at least thirty more categories as of today.

  5. I never realized train tracks was such a popular book cover. But now that I think about it I’ve read several that feature that. I always enjoy these Cover Love posts!

  7. Yes. All these covers make me want to hop on a train headed Cross country, solo, and read a good book along the way.

My favorites are 39 steps and In Paradise. There is something about those two that captures the eye.

Yes, I’m tempted by some of the covers. I already have Same Kind of Different As Me and Catching the Westbound on my TBR . Thanks to post I have added Some Small Magic with several others catching my eye like Stasi Wolf, The Railway Station Man, A Fist Around the Heart and Little Bird of Heaven to name a few. When all is said and done, I could see adding 10 titles to my list. Gorgeous covers! Thank you for taking to time to put this together☺
