Cover Love: part 43 – Stone angels

The covers of novels entice the reader to enter a different world. Covers are, after all, the way the publisher hooks the reader into choosing one book over countless others.

In my forty-third installment of ‘Cover Love‘, I’d like to show you books that feature stone angels on their covers.

Angels because it is almost Christmas – AND because it is at this time of year, more than any other, that we remember those who we loved who are no longer with us…

Some of the following books I’ve already read, some are on my ‘to read’ list,
and some I chose only for their covers.

Some, perhaps, will now be on your TBR!

Just click on the cover to read the book’s synopsis from  Goodreads.

You might just find your next favorite book!

Are you tempted by any of these covers?

If you have a few minutes visit any of the previous installments of

Cover Love – some of which I’ve updated recently

  1. i have to agree with suckerforcoffee–most are pretty–but there were a number of them that i found rather creepy as well. glad to see i’m not the only one. is the point that not all angels are “heavenly?”

  2. The covers are lovely, but my this post is unnerving for Doctor who Lovers

  4. Before this post I didn’t think stone angels were a common cover theme. Thanks for putting these together 😊

The thing I like best about this post is hearing that there are 40 more to come!

Lovely choice! I’m a sucker for stone angels as well, though I suspect this is because I tend to associate them with older cemeteries, and I’m very drawn to those (and all the stories and history they represent!). And part 43? Wow. You have an excellent eye for cover themes!

    • Ha-ha! Everyone is different, for some they are creepy, while for others they are soothing. Many of the titles listed here are thrillers/mysteries, so perhaps they tend to lean toward the creepy.

Thank you for putting together a list of all of these gorgeous covers. I really enjoyed looking at them. The artistry in them is stunning.

The angel on ‘Old Wounds’ reminds me of the Weeping Angels in ‘Dr Who’. I would probably give this one a try, judging just from the cover! This is a really interesting concept for a blog post series.
