We bookbloggers are a ‘different’ lot. We read, we read, we read, but… we also blog. That means that much time is spent at the keyboard. Not just writing posts, but also trying to maintain communication with other bloggers who you support and who support you. As we are a few months in to 2018, I thought I’d put out ‘feelers’ as to what you want from my labour of love, Fictionophile.
And since I’ve been wondering, another short poll about Twitter etiquette.
And, just for fun, because this post is sort of self-centered, I thought I’d continue the theme with a photo of my grand-dogs. I don’t have any grand-children, so they’ll have to do. LOL

Oakley on the left is a rescue dog. Kooper on the right has been spoiled with love since puppyhood. They are the best of friends. In case you were wondering, they are Cavalier King Charles spaniels.
Cute grand-dogs!! I especially like posts on mysteries.

That’s good because I like reading mysteries. 😍 I have to say that not only are my grand-dogs cute, they are extremely well behaved. Before they came into my life I was strictly a cat person. 😻

I love all your posts, but I love reading reviews! Oh and I never say thanks and don’t expect anyone to tell me… I just like to reciprocrate by sharing and RT 🙂

Thanks Annie. Like you, I like to return the favor by sharing tweets and re-tweeting. Once in a while, I’ll do an en masse thank-you.

Hello. I received a message in my spam from you. Well, at least it says it’s from you. I don’t know why it went to spam??? Anyway, you were asking where I live. I live in South Dakota. 🙂

Yes, it was from me. Thanks for getting back to me. I am trying to discern where everyone lives who ‘liked’ my post in order that I can compile a list of names for the giveaway draw. Your name will be included.

Your cover love series is definitely orginal and I associate that immediately with your blog! I wouldn’t really change anything!

I definitely come here for your book reviews – I’m always on the lookout for good books, and your taste in books has fit in with mine many times, and your reviews are always very thoughtful, so if you recommend a book highly I’ll probably go and buy it and put it in the dangerously teetering TBR pile.
For the Twitter poll, I think most book bloggers have a thousand commitments (family, work, blog, dogs, illness, the list is endless ….) so I know people can’t always find the time and energy (or even the wifi connection) to be on social media, and I hope they’ll understand if I can’t either – I think we all try to keep up as best we can and try to help each other. Book blogging has a very supportive and well-intentioned community, and I think we all understand we’re all trying our best.

Insightful post, Lynne! I have to say it was hard to only pick one thing I love about your posts. I was hoping there was going to be an “all of the above” option at the bottom 😊
I was glad to see the results on your Twitter poll. I have to admit I don’t always get a chance to thank all the bloggers who support me and tweet/retweet my posts but I’m always honoured and thankful and I often prefer to spend any extra time I have reading and sharing other bloggers posts.

Interesting post and I’ve duly answered your polls. I was discussing with another blogger that as the number of interactions grow there comes a point where it is impossible to thank or even visit everyone who visits as much as I’d like to – I choose to make time for my favourites and then a selection of others but I need time to read too 😊

Yes Cleo, I agree completely. There are a limited number of hours in a day and there must be a way to prioritize without hurting anyone’s feelings.

Oh gosh, those grand-dogs are adorable. I hope we get to see them again soon! But on a more serious note, I would have liked to be able to choose more than one in the top poll. Cover Love, Blog updates and bookish art would also have been on my list of things I appreciate from your blog. And the graphics! Always good! Though I realise you are not looking for approbation with this post, I’ll take the opportunity to mention that you’re always worth a visit and your efforts are much appreciated. Thanks Lynne!

I think liking a tweet when someone shares your post is thanks enough. I do most of the time thank folks individually but often that’s to break up continuous links and avoid twitter jail.

Ha-ha. Twitter jail! I do think a liking a tweet when someone shares your post is enough. Sometimes I think all the thanks posts are just cluttering up the Twitter feed. I AM grateful, but I can show my gratitude in other ways – such as retweeting THEIR posts.
