June TBR: a plan

Well folks this is the third month of my plan to get a handle on my TBR.  In addition to trying to get the oldest titles off my list, I’ve been valiantly trying to abstain from requesting anything on NetGalley or Edelweiss.  I’m finding it very difficult as wonderful new titles continue to be featured on the blogs of my blogging friends.

Anyway… here are the nine titles I plan to read in June (providing my arms aren’t too tired to hold my Kindle after gardening LOL)

I MUST read the one title I didn’t get to from May’s list (I knew I had bitten off more than I could chew…)

All the beautiful lies” by Peter Swanson

I’m super excited to read Fredrik Backman’s latest title “Us against you” which is a sequel of sorts to the incredible “Beartown”

I’m participating in the official blog tour for “Motherland” on June 7th

I plan to read “The possible world” which I received from  Simon & Schuster via Edelweiss

and a title I received from Simon & Schuster “The death of Mrs. Westaway

and two titles which were raved about by my fellow bookbloggers last year:

Exquisite” by Sarah Stovell which I received from Orenda Publishing

and “The sewing machine” by Natalie Fergie which I received from Unbound via NetGalley

and I’m really anticipating Sarah Winman’s “Tin man

and, last but not least, a title that has been on my NetGalley list since 2015 (hanging my head in shame)

The lie” by C.L. Taylor

That’s it for June. I imagine I’ll be so busy in the garden that I won’t have time for more than nine titles.  If I do have time, I’d be only too delighted to fit in another title or two… The garden is calling me…

Oh, some nice reads here, Lynne, I know nothing about Tin Man or Sewing Machine so will check those out. I’m really looking forward to Motherland. It’s a bit out of the box for me, but I’m curious about it.

    • Christine I’m reading “Motherland” now. It is ‘out of the box’ for me too. Fast paced, the writing flows well, yet it is not in my comfort zone. The author obviously has a lot of talent, yet I’m skeptical as to whether I’ll continue on with the series.

  3. Exactly! The garden is calling and with that beautiful weather very difficult to ignore. And in the winter, those knitting needles keep poking me–WAH!

  10. I just finished Tin Man and it was absolutely beautiful. It is one of those books that is quiet but weighs heavy on your soul. Hope you enjoy it!

  11. I just tried cleaning my TBR shelf for the first time a few days ago and I didn’t realize it was so tiring. 😂 It’s so easy to add books you want to read and so difficult to do the opposite 😂

I can relate to having titles waiting on TBR list and still wanting to check out new releases. 🙈

I’ve been hopeless with gardening. I am learning but still killing my poor plants. I think this time around, I may have fertilised them too much. 🙈 It’s so satisfying getting some soil on my hands though. Happy gardening to you! 😊

And good luck with your June’s TBR plan. 🍀
