This is a new spin on my Cover Love posts. Although I still plan to continue my Cover Love series, I just thought it would be sort of fun to concentrate on title words for a change – instead of pictures. Most readers will acknowledge that some words reappear time and time again in titles. Often these words are associated with a particular genre. Case in point: “The girl on the train” and “Gone girl” spawned countless thriller titles with the word ‘girl’ in the title.
Today, for the third edition of Wednesday Word, I’ve chosen the word “Perfect“. I know there are countless books with the word perfect in the title, but I’m featuring 20 fairly recent titles that appeal to me personally, as a way of sharing my book love. Some of these titles I’ve read, the rest are on my TBR.
(I’ve limited myself to 20 titles as I tend to get carried away. LOL )
Just click on the cover to read the book’s synopsis from Goodreads.
You might just find your next favorite book!

Are you tempted by any of these covers?
Have you read one of these titles and absolutely LOVED it?
Please let me know in the comments.
I have read 5 and have one coming up. This word doesn’t surprise me like some of the others have. What is surprising is how many different words they pair with it.

What a fun post! And some nifty covers in there as well. I have to say though that if I were an author, I would avoid these overused title words (girl, perfect, dead, deadly, lies, dark, secret, etc.) like the plague. Otherwise, it’s a great way to lose your book in the masses!

So true Christine. I remember when I was working as a library cataloguer. We had 22 books in the database with the single word title “Betrayal”.

Wow, I hadn’t realised how many books had the word perfect in the title! I’ve read Penny Vincenzi’s A Perfect Heritage and very much enjoyed it. I know The Perfect Nanny seems to divide opinion but I found it a really absorbing, unsettling read and definitely one I’d recommend.
