This is a new spin on my Cover Love posts. Although I still plan to continue my Cover Love series, I just thought it would be sort of fun to concentrate on title words for a change – instead of pictures. Most readers will acknowledge that some words reappear time and time again in titles. Often these words are associated with a particular genre. Case in point: “The girl on the train” and “Gone girl” spawned countless thriller titles with the word ‘girl’ in the title.
Today, for the third edition of Wednesday Word, I’ve chosen the word “Silent“. I know there are countless books with the word silent in the title, but I’m featuring 20 fairly recent titles that appeal to me personally, as a way of sharing my book love. Some of these titles I’ve read, the rest are on my TBR.
(I’ve limited myself to 20 titles as I tend to get carried away. LOL )
Just click on the cover to read the book’s synopsis from Goodreads.
You might just find your next favorite book!

Are you tempted by any of these covers?
Have you read one of these titles and absolutely LOVED or HATED it?
Please let me know in the comments.
Nice switch up!

Thanks. Back to the usual ‘Cover Love’ next Wednesday. I’ve decided to do 3 ‘Wednesday Word’ posts then one ‘Cover Love’ post per month for the near future.

Believe it or not, I have not read a single one of these titles, but I do have three on my TBR. I also have some others with Silent in the title that are not on your list. It’s interesting that most of the covers are darker, sinister seeming.

Wednesday seems to come around more quickly each week! I think I’ve only read The Silent Wife from your selection.

Joanne I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels that time is flying at warp speed. Next Wednesday I’ll do a cover love post.

I’ve read Silent Scream. Loved it. I’ve only read two in Marsons series, but I’m eager to read more.

I’ve not read Angela Marsons yet but she is on my TBR. A lot of people have recommended her work. ♥️ Thanks Carrie.

I’ve read Silent Lies and Silent Companions (both were excellent). I will be reading The Silent Sister. I agree- that same staircase has been used at least 3 times!

Not as many times as the derelict building (7 times) See my ‘Seeing double’ post under ‘Cover Love’. Thanks Holly. ♥️

Looking through these I almost thought Silent Lies by Kathryn Croft was Lies
by T.M. Logan… boy do they look similar and both with Lies in the title… you’d think someone in marketing would pay attention to these things.

True Carrie. Thanks for commenting. I sometimes think that publishers follow each other like lemmings… Originality seems rare.

Well I guess it doesn’t say much that I’ve picked up both titles…. go with what sells I guess.

Carrie, most of these titles are on my TBR so I guess their lack of originality hasn’t harmed the books any. LOL

Hehe yeah, I know what you mean. And I’m horrible and grabbing them based off the cover too so I’m probably contributing to the marketing ploys.
