Most readers will acknowledge that some words reappear time and time again in titles. Often these words are associated with a particular genre. Case in point: “The girl on the train” and “Gone girl” spawned countless thriller titles with the word ‘girl’ in the title.
We are going through a real chilly spell in Nova Scotia (-11C as I write this), so for that reason I chose the word ‘ice‘ as this week’s Wednesday’s Word.
I know there are thousands of books with the word ‘ice’ in the title, but I’m featuring a small selection of titles that appeal to me personally, as a way of sharing my book love. I have read the first four titles listed and most of the rest are on my TBR.
Just click on the cover to read the book’s synopsis from Goodreads.
You might just find your next favorite book!

Are you tempted by any of these covers?
Have you read one of these titles and absolutely LOVED it?
If you’ve added even one of these titles to YOUR TBR,
please let me know.
The only one I have read is The Girl in the Ice, but once again, I will be visiting Goodreads to see if there are any others I want to add. Lots of different cover images though. Nice post Lynne.

That iceberg on Out of the Ice caught my eye. I love a simple cover that works.

Yes Debbie. Often it is the ‘simple’ esthetic that packs more of a visceral punch. Thanks for your comment.

I read under Under the Ice and while the cathedral city of Saint Albans( in the freezing cold) is certainly very attractive I can’t say that I was overwhelmed by the story and the characters…

I like the cover design for The Ice Is Singing. It’s unsettling.

Funny you should single that title out Neil. I purchased it yesterday after composing this post. Thanks for your interest and support.

They are many. A problematic choice and if it comes with ice, even more so.

Great post! I had of course noticed “the girl” usage but I had no idea there were so many “ice” titles!
