They say you can never have a second chance to make a good first impression. A book’s cover does just that – gives a first impression. A good cover can make a reader pick up a book. A bad cover can leave the book at the very bottom of a dusty pile.
The covers of novels entice the reader to enter a different world. Covers are, after all, the way the publisher ‘hooks‘ the reader into choosing one book over countless others.
In my 70th installment of ‘Cover Love‘, I’d like to show you books that have dark covers with flora accents. This seems to be a current trend. In fact, of the 28 titles I have included in this post 8 were published in 2018, 10 were published in early 2019, and 10 have not even been published yet! These seem to encompass a wide variety of genres. Enjoy!
It all started for me when I read a review of Blackberry & Wild Rose by Sonia Velton. The comments on the review all praised the beautiful cover. I thought to myself that if many admire this cover, then the publishers must have cottoned on to that fact and I bet there are lots more similar covers out there. And guess what? I was right.
Perhaps you’ll find some additions for your TBR!
Just click on the cover to read the book’s synopsis from Goodreads.
You might just find your next favorite book!

Are you tempted by any of these covers?
Have you read one of these titles and absolutely LOVED it?
Please let me know in the comments.
And don’t forget to check out any of the other previous 69 installments of Cover Love, many of which have been updated since they were first published.
Wow! What a master list of beautiful covered books. I love these and I will definitely be checking them out. Thanks for creating this 🙌🏽

Interesting choice Lynne. I often pick my books based on the cover (or at least investigate whether I want to read them or not) and I only have one of these books on my TBR. I think I need to look a bit closer at covers with flowers on them because some of these sound really interesting and I am going to add them to my TBR.

Thanks Carla. I found this subject interesting due to the fact that they are all new releases. Clearly the publishers think that they are onto something.

The majority of them are fantasy, fairytale etc. That was also interesting.

Since all of them are relatively new releases (or not released yet), I guess the publishers are onto something. ♥
