Hi folks. I hope everyone had a great weekend.
Just in case you were wondering… WordPress has been acting strange lately.
Blogs that I have followed for YEARS are now starting to show that I’m not following them at all! For instance, today when I visited a blog that I visit EVERYDAY, I saw this:
When, I usually see this:
I’ve had to RE-FOLLOW countless blogs over the weekend.
Has this been happening to YOU? Or, is it just me?
Yikes! I’ve not noticed, but I’ll be keeping a closer eye out now… Cheers for the heads up!

Oh no. I think it has happened to me but I thought it was a one off error. I will have to look at the list of blogs I follow, but there’s no way I could remember which ones are missing. Maybe I’ve assumed that people weren’t actually publishing posts lately, when instead I have somehow unfollowed them…

I’ve had weird things happen but just thought they were anomalies or iOS issues. Now I’m not sure.

Strange how we all take a bit of weirdness in our stride and accept it as ‘normal’. This got to be a bit much, so I thought I’d mention it.

Oh wow, that’s crazy. Thanks for the heads up. I’ll pay attention more to my account.

Odd, Lynne. Were you ever able to communicate with the blogger who seemed to avoid you?

There were two bloggers that blocked me on Twitter. I heard from one of them. She is clearly confused. She said I posted links in comments to her site that she objected to and that I was argumentative about removing them. This never happened. I guess she has confused me with someone else. However, she is still blocking me, so I no longer follow her blog.

This has been happening to me too!! I also found it happens more when I’m using WordPress app on my phone.

I usually view blogs on my laptop computer, so I guess it is happening on all devices.

Hmm, maybe that’s why I haven’t been getting notifications from some of the blogs i often read. I assumed they were taking a break. Thanks for the heads up, I will check it out.

Good idea Carla. I think there are several new ‘bugs’ that need to be ironed out.

It was doing it to me when I was trying to like and share posts on Twitter via my phone last week!

Hope they do something soon Sheila. It is very frustrating. I’ve had to REfollow several blogs – sometimes twice or three times…

I don’t pay too much attention usually as all the blogs I follow I’m on email reminders – they still come!

I haven’t noticed that yet but will look for it – thanks for the heads up.

Add me to the complaint queue for this problem. This latest weirdness adds to a problem I have with the “reblog” button. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. I just give up an do a cut-and-paste reblog of things I found great.
On a positive note, a few days ago I received an error message when trying to post an entry followed by an inability to access my blog through either dashboard or the front end. I contacted support and got help in under five minutes. I found that impressive.
For future employment, I would not have a good feeling when listing my most recent position as a Happiness Engineer. Really?

I haven’t noted that problem, but sometimes I can comment using my WordPress login and sometimes I can’t and have to sign in differently. I have also experienced difficulty with the like option. Do you think it has to do with the new editor? I’m still using classic editor. Sorry about your situation 😢

Interesting Carol. I am still using the classic editor too (though I can’t imagine why that would make me UNfollow a blog…)

Maybe just incompatibility with Gutenberg?

I mostly read through my reader on my phone but I have noticed that if I go to someone page using my computer it says I’m not following them.

I do have the same problem, but then in the followed sites/manage line they do appear again. But their is other weirdness as well, the like button no longer changes to “liked” which is a bother because I always have to check visually whether the like message has passed or not…(and that is not always easy if people have many “likes”😞)

I often have to click ‘like’ two or three times for it to ‘take’. Thanks.

It’s not happening to me at the moment, but it has happened in the past. Hopefully, they fix it soon!

I noticed this a few months ago. If I view through my reader it says i follow, if I go to their actual blog it says I do not. For some reason I try to sign in on those pages to follow and it just doesn’t let me sign in anymore. Weirdly, I go to workpress.com and I am signed in and can post on my blog and read via the reader.

Very strange. Surely this is a bug that would be easy for them to fix. It sure is frustrating.

It really is, I honestly thought it was only me it was happening too. Kinda happy it is not just mine, but sad it is happening to others. Quick question, what browser do you use? Curious to see if we are using the same one.

I use Chrome for my browser.

Knowing I’m not the only one helps Susan. By the tone of these comments, I would say there are some bugs that WordPress has to fix.
