All of the novels in the above graphic are on my TBR. I do NOT have review commitments for any of them. But these are the ones I really, really, really want to read.
Sometimes I wish I could live forever as there are SO many wonderful reads out there.
Do YOU have a huge TBR that you don’t have review commitments for? If so, what title is at the top of your list?
PREACH! My TBR (well, TBRs – there are multiple lists!) are out of control. Luckily, I don’t have any commitments driving me except my own – I swore I’d make it through my list of “books I should have read” before I read any others, and that’s how I’ve amassed such a mess. But, to borrow a phrase from Anne Lamott, just gotta take it bird by bird, and trust that we’ll get to them all eventually! At least we’ll never run out of things to read… the horror!

Yes Sheree. Although we complain about our TBRs, we wouldn’t have it any other way.

I feel your pain. My TBR is insane. I said to my husband the other day, “Why do I do this to myself?” And he said without skipping a beat, “Because you love it.” 😂

I have like 700 books on my backlist- but not all of them are priority. I actually don’t commit to reviews very often for exactly this reason. (And in part because there’s no surer way to get me to loathe picking up a book than to give it to me for review. At that point it starts feeling like a chore. I make exceptions for stuff I’m super excited about on occasion.)
This week I did pick up a couple high-priority ones though, Blood Meridien by Cormac McCarthy, and Lord of the Flies by William Goulding. I read a chapter of each last night and I’m pretty sure they are not going to disappoint!

I admire your will power. Sadly I’m lacking in that trait. I have over 150 review commitments at present.

I’m panicking on your behalf- I think if I had 150 books I was committed to I’d just quit blogging! But also- you got this! lol

I know the feeling so well 😀 The book on the top of my tbr is Corrupted by Simon Michael, the fourth book in his legal thriller series set in 1960s London.

My TBR (of books that I own already) is over two thousand, and that doesn’t include review books. I have so many that I want to get to but I never seem to manage it. I’m planning on joining in with the 20 books of summer that Cathy at 746 books runs and this year I want to just plan on reading my own books, and perhaps some of the longer books that I keep skipping past.

Like you Hayley, I tend to avoid the longer books lately. There are just SO many to read and review that books over 500 pages get neglected by me. I usually join in the “20 books of summer” but have to give it a miss this year. I’m having major surgery in August and cannot know if I’ll be able to meet the commitments/challenges that I’ve already signed up for.

I feel your pain!! Looking at your graphic, Rubbernecker has also been on my list for yeaars. AND I’d highly recommend both The Dry and Life After Life. Hope you get around to them all one of these days 🙂

Oh me too Emma. I keep saying I won’t get any more from NetGalley and Edelweiss so that I can read my own books. HA! I’m never successful at that. Just today Edelweiss sent me a “Read Now” invitation… It looks really good…. Oh dear….

Yes!!! There are SO many I can’t even count them. 🤦♀️

Perhaps we should use the titles as a sleep aid Nicole. Instead of counting sheep we can silently recite the titles of our unread books. LOL

😂 That would probably just get me more amped to read them, though!

Yeah. At last count about 900 books in my tbr. At least 800 are just whenever Books. I am reading my most personally urgent none urgent book now, All that’s Dead by Stuart MacBride.

I MUST read the Logan McRae series soon. Thanks for reminding me Jen. I have nothing to read. LOL (another dozen books added to the pile…)

I only accept review copies of books I truly want to read. My To Be Read is mostly my accompaniment to my really long commute each day so I’m picky!

A long commute would be deadly – but reading would make it bearable. I should be MORE picky I guess. ♥

Can’t move “The Burning” to the top, but I will definitely move it way up the queue. Thanks so much Cathy. ♥

I’ve got between 200 and 300 I reckon, including NetGalley. I’ve put a few on my list for the 20 Books of Summer Reading Challenge hosted by Cathy at 746 Books hoping to get rid of some that way.

What better reason for immortality is there than to read books? I have about ten to twenty books I’ve purchased but haven’t read. They range in style, from Wicked to Pet Semetary, but I’ll eventually get to them. As far as other ones on my tbr, I have no idea lol

Oooh, I spot Coffin Road, you just have to read that one. And The Dry. Actually, they all look good – I do understand your dilemma. 🙂

I just requested four from the library. The Binding by Bridget Collins, I Miss You When I Blink by Mary Laura Philpott, The Girl he Used To Know by Tracey Garvis Graves, and Miracle Creek by Angie Kim. Today I am picking up In Another Time by Jillian Cantor. There are so many that I can’t decide which are the most desired. Winter of the Witch is still pending at the library so that is a few at least. I need to stop reading reviews on blogs. 😆😆 Like that will happen. 😆😆 I do have few of the ones you pictured on my TBR as well Lynne.

1. Indian Immigrant by Biku Ghosh
2. The Noble Mercenary by Patrick John Donahoe
3. Stillpoint: The Geometry of Consciousness
4. The Pygmy Dragon
5. Baggage
6. The Queen of Xana
7. Destructive Interference
8. Call of the Couch
9. Just in Time
10. The Crystilleries of Echoland
… and more.
I wish there are more than 24 hours a day so I could read more.

I am back on a non fiction kick. Several of the libraries I go to have a new non fiction section right as you walk in the door. My TBR shelf is now overflowing onto the floor with books I have picked up in the last ten days. And still I grab more every time I pop into a library because my kiddo needs a new ….
