So many times my finger has hovered over the Request button…
Then, I remind myself that I already have over 70 titles from NetGalley already that I
haven’t read yet. I repeat the mantra “I must not be greedy”, “I must not be greedy”, “I must not be greedy”, “I must not be greedy”
and it is even HARDER when the button looks like this:
Here are TEN of the titles that I would request – WANT to request, but I’m holding myself back until I’m a bit more caught up. I hope they’re not gone when I get around to requesting them… But then, if they’re gone, maybe I should view that as a ‘sign‘. LOL
Honestly… don’t they ALL look fabulous?
Have you read any of these?
Don’t be afraid to let me know. I won’t be jealous…
You have much better restraint than I do Lynne. Several of these look inviting, but being as it is 2 months since you posted this, I am guessing they are no longer available. 🤣🤣

I’m not sure how many of them are still available Carla. I did get “The Big Finish” from NetGalley and I bought “The Missing Letters of Mrs. Bright”.
The others are still at the wishing for stage.

I just got The Big Finish from EW, the others I was interested in were no longer available which is probably a good thing.

Gahhhh, I completely understand the itch/urge! On occasion, if I’m debating buying a book in a bookstore, I do the old “I’ll leave it here for now, and if I come back tomorrow and it’s still here, that’s a sign from the universe that I should buy it”. Why do we do it to ourselves?? 😅😅 These do look fabulous though, I hope they’re still around when you get to them!

Thanks Sheree. One of them is gone from NetGalley already. It is obviously a ‘sign’. LOL

A strange kind of comfort looks good! I know what you mean though about over-requesting. So many good books, but there’s only so much time in the day! 😂

I really admire your resolve! I’m trying to do the same, but there are so many great books on the horizon, making it so difficult…

It is a struggle. Stay strong. I have ‘wished for’ a couple of NetGalley titles over the past months. If my wish is granted for any of them, that doesn’t count as a request…. right? LOL

Great post, Lynne, and yes, I do have one of those books, The Other People. Wanted to finally get my hands on a CJ Tudor book. But really, Lynne, that gif at the end with the dog and the stuffed toy being petted. SOOO classic and I sat and laughed until my DH came over to see what I was laughing about. Can’t tell me dogs don’t get jealous.

Oooo they do all look good! I only have one of these from NG – The Other People. I am on my very last NG book with a publication date of 2019. There have been quite a few 2019’s that I have wanted to request, but have stayed strong and am only requesting 2020’s. Stay strong, someday the resistance will pay off!

Thanks Tina. I hope it will. My greed for more books is something I have to address. I wish I was in the same position as you. I still have titles on my NetGalley list that are over a year old….SIGH.

Ah the good old Netgalley lists – we all have them!
I’m just in the process of writing my review for The House on the Lake, which I enjoyed. It’s a rather bleak book but another good mystery from Nuala Ellwood 👍
