WWW Wednesday – October 7, 2020 #readingforpleasure #bookbloggers #WWWWednesday

I quite like a nosy look at what others are reading. To that end, despite the fact that I’m home now and have reliable internet, I’m once again participating in WWW Wednesdays.

Welcome to this week’s WWW Wednesday. WWW Wednesday is a weekly feature hosted by Sam @ Taking on a World of Words.

Just answer the three questions below and leave a link to your post in the comments for others to look at. No blog? No problem! Just leave a comment with your responses. Please, take some time to visit the other participants and see what others are reading. So, let’s get to it!

The three Ws are:
What are you currently reading?
What have you finished reading?
What will you read next?

What am I currently reading?Women of the Dunesby (new to me) author Sarah Maine. This is a title published by Atria that I downloaded from NetGalley. (quite some time ago)

What have I finished reading?Anxious Peopleby one of my favourite authors – Fredrik Backman which was simultaneously touching and hilarious. I’m never disappointed by Backman’s ability to entertain me. This book had me laughing aloud – so much so that my husband thought I was ‘losing it‘. LOL It is published by Atria Books and I downloaded this title from NetGalley.

What will I read next? The Seven Doors” by Agnes Ravatn which is published by Orenda Books.  I’ve read this author’s first novel, “The Bird Tribunal” and it was my top read of 2017.

AND..

I will be reading “The Guest List” by Lucy Foley as part of a group read instigated by the Facebook Group “A Novel Book Club“.

then…I’ll be reading “Playing Nice” by J.P. Delaney. Published by Quercus, I received this novel as a member of the ‘Secret Readers‘ a service hosted by Hachette UK.

So that’s it!   How is YOUR reading week shaping up?

I don’t think I’ll participate in Secret Readers again, I hated reading on my phone! Suppose the app-only might work better if you have an iPad or such?

Oh, I rather like this idea, Lynne! I finished The Bookish Life of Nina Hill by Abbi Waxman, which was a great break from a string of heavy reads. I am currently reading Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking by Susan Cain. I am learning a lot with this one. Next will be Good Morning Monster by Catherine Gildiner, then What Could Be Saved by Liese O’Halloran Schwarz, then The Family Ship by Sonja Yoerg. The latter three are all Net Galley books.

    • Thanks Christine. I’ve had “The Bookish Life of Nina Hill” loaded on my Kindle for a while now but haven’t yet got to it. The new Liese O’Halloran Schwarz book, “What Could Be Saved” is a title that I got from NetGalley as well and I’m really looking forward to it based on my enjoyment of her previous novel “The Possible World”.

  10. Looks like you’ve had a really good reading week! I have yet to read any books by Backman but I’ve heard such fantastic things I think I need to get to them sooner rather than later! 📚❤️ X
