Teaser Tuesday – August 3, 2021 #NewBook #TeaserTuesday #TheSingingTrees @boowalkerbooks

My Tuesday post where I’ll ‘tease‘ you with the cover, blurb, and first paragraph of one of the advanced reader’s copies from my own TBR.

This book is a title I downloaded from NetGalley.

Today, Tuesday August 3, 2021 I want to introduce one of the ARCs on my TBR.

This book IS published TODAY August 3, 2021

Publisher: Lake Union Publishing (an imprint of Amazon Publishing)

ISBN: 9781542019125 – ASIN: ‎ B08MZSNWMZ – 430 pages

1) The Maine setting (which is a comfortable and familiar one to me as it is not far from where I live in Nova Scotia, Canada)

2) The cover is stunning.

3) The protagonist sounds interesting and the plot beguiling.

First paragraph of the prologue:

December 2019, Cape Elizabeth, Maine

Hundreds of wind chimes hung silently from snow-dusted branches. Annalisa Mancuso rested her gloved hand on the icy railing of the steps leading down from the back patio and searched for the first of the chimes that her dying friend, Emma, had hung in this forest of singing trees.

The actual 1st paragraph:

July 1969 Portland, Maine

Crammed into the back seat of her cousin’s brown beater, The Who playing “Pinball Wizard” on the radio, a wide-eyed Annalisa peered through the window at the skyline of the city she’d loved since she was a little girl. When someone from small-town Maine said, “Let’s go to the city,” she wasn’t referring to Boston or New York. She was speaking of Portland, a city that had been pulling at Annalisa long before she’d lost her parents and been forced to endure the rest of her high school years in Payton Mills, a town known for nothing but its football team and textile mill.

Have you ever read anything by this author?

Is this a title that you would consider adding to your TBR pile?

Why, or why not?

Let me know in the comments.
