Sunday Sampler – what I’ve been up to Feb. 6, 2022

We are in our fourth wave of Covid-19 here in Nova Scotia, with many new cases of Omnicron daily. For that reason, most all of what I’ve been doing lately has been very close to home.

Still experimenting with my new Ninja Foodi. I’ve had no real failures so far, and many successes. I’m loving it.

If any of you out there owns a Foodi, I’d be grateful if you could share your tips and recipes.

This week my husband and I finished watching “Vigil” starring Suranne Jones and we also finished “Pillars of the Earth“. I thoroughly enjoyed both of these shows.

I’m absolutely loving the new season of “All Creatures Great and Small“. Years ago I loved the first television version of the show and was hesitant to view the new version. I needn’t have worried as I love it just as much as the original.

We are also watching the 3rd season of “After Life” starring Ricki Gervais. I love these quirky characters.

We watched a DVD from the library which we loved. It was “News Of The World” starring Tom Hanks. (based on the novel by Paulette Jiles)

We had a snowstorm this week – but my grandson loved it!

And, of course, I was

I’ve read many great books already this year.

I’m determined to read and review more backlist titles this year and have read three of them so far.

My February reads to date:

I’m enjoying playing the new online game WORDLE and I’m totally hooked! I’ve played 25 times so far and here are my stats:

Here are the instructions for the game, just in case you want to click on the link above:

What are the rules of Wordle?

    1. You have to guess the Wordle in six goes or less.
    2. You begin by entering any five letter word.
    3. Every word you enter must be in the word list.
    4. A correct letter in the right place turns green.
    5. A correct letter in the wrong place turns yellow.
    6. An incorrect letter turns gray.
    7. Letters can be used more than once.

Just a heads-up… there are imitation Wordle games available for download however the REAL Wordle game is played online with NO download needed!

AND, because February is my birthday month, I thought I’d share this wonderful graphic:

What have YOU been up to this week? Let me know in the comments. ♥

What a perfect cartoon for this year. I am so glad I am in Florida and missed out on the blockades and stuff that went with it. Your grandson is so adorable, I love that picture. I am also playing Wordle, I almost blew it today, but got it on the last guess. Here’s hoping the rest of the month is better.

  2. ah, sweet, Lynne, a lovely personal update. first, a Foodie? I’m still trying to figure out our new air fryer. your grandson is a little doll, and the 50’s? figure i’m probably ten years older than you but so concur, the 50’s were awesome. we were being spoiled and wasn’t even aware of it. enjoy your Wordle–i’ve no clue where you get the time, but i’m very impressed! hugs!

  3. Good stuff. I loved the novel News of the World, but really, really, hoped Sam Elliott would get the lead. I like Tom Hanks just fine, but I “saw” Sam in the role.

    • Sure you can. I have faith in you! Start with ANY five letter word. If any of the letters you choose are correct AND in the right spot, they turn green. If the letters are correct, but not in the right spot, they turn yellow. If the letters are NOT IN THE WORD AT ALL they turn grey. Going slow, and using logic, you’ll be successful.
