I received an email from Simone Jung (Books Forward) asking if I would feature the novel “Dead Wind” on my blog. Well, I’m ashamed to admit that I had never heard of the author. Why am I ashamed? She was born in Canada (and I thought I was semi-knowledgeable about most of the Canadian crime writers who are writing today). I was totally surprised. So many books, so little time, right?

It turns out that Tessa Wegert has THREE crime novels in her Shana Merchant series. The novels feature former NYPD detective Shana Merchant, who has taken a job in her fiancé’s sleepy hometown in the Thousand Islands region of Upstate New York.

Though I have not yet read any of Tessa Wegert’s work, I have added the first novel in this series to my TBR.

Tessa Wegert is the author of the Shana Merchant series of mysteries, beginning with DEATH IN THE FAMILY. She grew up in Quebec near the border of Vermont and now lives with her husband and children in Coastal Connecticut, where she writes while studying martial arts and dance.
