Most readers will acknowledge that some words reappear time and time again in titles. Often these words are associated with a particular genre. Case in point: “The girl on the train” and “Gone girl” spawned countless thriller titles with the word ‘girl’ in the title.
My pick for Wednesday’s Word this week is ‘HALL‘. In this post I’ve selected 25 novels with the word ‘HALL’ in the title as a way of sharing my book love. Ever since reading “Jane Eyre” as an adolescent, I’ve been intrigued by books with ‘Hall’ in the title. In Britain, ‘hall’ is a term used for a large stately home or manor house, usually with considerable grounds or acreage.
These titles cover a broad range of genres with historical fiction and mystery being the most prevalent in this selection.
Just click on the cover to read the book’s synopsis from Goodreads.
You might just find your next favorite book!
Are you tempted by any of these covers?
Which cover MOST APPEALS to YOU?
Have you read one of these titles and absolutely LOVED it?
When I saw “Hall” as your word, I immediately thought thrillers and mystery, but you found books from a variety of genres. Nice mix, Lynne.

I’m not sure if I knew of Anne Bronte. I went to google a few minutes ago and learned that she wrote two novels and died very young (age 29).

Yes Neil. Sadly all three Bronte sisters died tragically young. Anne was 29, Emily was 30, and Charlotte was 39.

A varied and good selection, something for everyone. I am drawn to The Witch of Willow Hall and will look it up., besides the title just reminds me of someone nearby!

When I saw the world “hall”, I honestly thought this was going to be a really short post. I’m honestly surprised to see it is used so much.
