My Tuesday post where I’ll ‘tease‘ you with the cover, blurb, and first paragraph of one of the advanced reader’s copies from my own TBR.
This book is a title I downloaded from NetGalley.
Today, Tuesday May 3, 2022 I want to introduce one of the ARCs on my TBR.
This novel will be published on June 7, 2022
Publisher: Lake Union Publishing
ISBN: 9781542037822 – 255 pages
1) The blurb evoked a sense of menace and sounds suspenseful, and the cover is quite attractive.
2) Wondering what could have happened in the protagonist’s past to spur being terrorized…
3) I’ve always been fascinated by the idea of ‘house-sitting’.
4) The name Iris is what first caught my eye. It was my mother’s name.
“The night is dark and quiet and I welcome it, like an old friend. The blanket of inky-black sky. The glow of a watchful moon. It’s not that I don’t fear it – fear is my constant companion, my mind ever spinning its spidery web of potential dangers. And yet there’s something about the cover of darkness that gives me peace, lets me rest. When the world sleeps, I can pretend there’s nothing to fear.
I can pretend the worst hasn’t happened and never will.”
Is this a title that you would consider adding to your TBR pile?
Have you read anything else by this author?
Why, or why not?
Let me know in the comments.
