My Tuesday post where I’ll ‘tease‘ you with the cover, blurb, and first paragraph of one of the advanced reader’s copies from my own TBR.
This book is a title I downloaded from Edelweiss.
Today, Tuesday May 10, 2022 I want to introduce one of the ARCs on my TBR.
This novel will be published on May 31, 2022
Publisher: MarySue Rucci Books / Scribner / Simon & Schuster
ISBN: 9781982120382 – 336 pages
1) The historical context of a woman in what was then a man’s profession.
2) I’m intrigued (and often appalled) at the way the mentally ill were treated in the past.
3) A dark childhood secret???? Love reading about those.
4) The attractive cover.
“I’ve been told that my mother had a wonderful sense of humor. Also that she was pretty. But most people recall her wit first, and her easy laughter, and because of this I’ve always had a better sense of how she felt than how she looked. She must have been happy most of the time if she found so many things to say and to laugh about. She died when I was an infant, so I have no memory of her. After I moved to my Aunt Kate’s house I’d hear her talking with friends about my mother and me, usually in hushed tones after I’d just left the room.“
Is this a title that you would consider adding to your TBR pile?
Have you read anything else by this author?
Why, or why not?
Let me know in the comments.
This is definitely a book I would add to my TBR, it sounds fascinating.
