This book is a title I downloaded from NetGalley.
Today, Tuesday May 17, 2022 I want to introduce one of the ARCs on my TBR.

1) The rural Sussex, England setting.
2) I love a police procedural.
3) The mansion and its occupants sound intriguing.
4) The first paragraph sounds like Anna Petty is talking to children, yet we learn they are adults… an interesting dynamic.
4) I’ve read this author before and I’m a huge fan of her writing.

I can highly recommend her “Death of a Mermaid” as well as her Detective’s Daughter crime series. Hope you’re enjoying “The Companion” Karen. ♥

The plot sounds interesting but my adding to my pile depends on whether and how gory this gets. I can handle a little but don’t like too much

I haven’t read it yet, so can’t tell you whether it is gory. I do know that her previous books that I have read have NOT been gory. They deal more with the psychological aspects of the crimes.
