Hurricane Fiona and me

Well folks, Fiona lived up to her potential!

Here in the Halifax area of Nova Scotia hundreds of thousands of people are without electricity. Our power has now been off for 65 hours! (as of Sept. 26th)

In the north of the province, things fared much worse. Unfortunately that is where our summer cottage is located. Thousands of dollars worth of damage….

No one was hurt. Lots and lots of damage.

CNN article about Fiona’s impact on Atlantic Canada.

On another personal note, Fiona landed here on our 45th wedding anniversary. One to remember for sure despite the fact that we were unable to go out and celebrate.

Will post my next review when the power comes back on.

  5. Not the best way to remember a wedding anniversary–congratulations on that–but so sorry for the storm damage. I know they are scary (we experienced two typhoons while living in Taiwan). Glad no one was hurt. Hoping you get power back soon.

I’m so glad to hear from you Lynne, I am glad you are all safe. I was definitely praying. Where is your cottage located? My daughter lost her power around 9:00 on Friday and it is still out. They had a blip around 1:00 today, but it was a teaser. So glad everyone I know is safe.
