Well dear folks I finally have a surgery date! I have been waiting a full year, but the time has arrived. I expect to be in hospital for 7-10 days, then a lengthy recovery period. I will try to get some reading done while hospitalized, but I’m unsure as to how I’ll be feeling.
For the next few weeks I might not be posting, reviewing, or even following your blogs, but fear not – I will return eventually. In the meantime, be patient with me as I love be a part of this book blogging community.

Thanks Carla. It was (and continues to be) quite the ordeal. I was in hospital 8 days and was discharged with 85 staples in my abdomen and 2 drains. I see my surgeon later this week when I hope he will remove the drains.

Two drains! Wow, you poor thing! My daughter recently had a bad patch (gallbladder) and she’s now running around with one drain, and that’s bad enough. However, they’re trying to move things up for her and we have the pre-surgery appointment.
