“How To Find Love In A Bookshop” by Veronica Henry – Book Review

It’s the season of love, so, on Valentine’s Day I thought I’d read a love story for a change. In a word… this one was delightful!

Authentic, empathetic characters, a beautiful Cotswold village setting, love, music, and books… what’s not to love?

The charming village was the type that many people, myself included, would love to live in. Beautiful to look at, yet peopled with a diverse selection of caring, intelligent and quirky characters – with more than one secret tucked away behind the golden stone facades.

Oh yes, it may have been a tad predictable, with a property developer casting his greedy eyes upon a much loved family business, yet for me, right now, it was the perfect fictional escape. And yes, it did have the ‘happily ever after’ ending that I predicted but I was immersed in the story irregardless.

A heart-warming, feel-good story which I highly recommended to bibliophiles and anglophiles alike!

This review was written voluntarily and my rating was in no way influenced by the fact that I received a complimentary digital copy of this novel from Pamela Dorman Books/Penguin Random House via Edelweiss.

ISBN: 9780735223493 –  ASIN: ‎ B015ERLVHE –  352 pages

Published August 15, 2017 (obviously this is a book from my Edelweiss backlist)

NOTE: I have Veronica Henry’s recent novel “The Impulse Purchase” loaded on my Kindle for further reading enjoyment.
In 2000 Veronica Henry got her first book deal, and she has now written over twenty popular novels.

She also writes lifestyle features for newspapers and magazines, including Woman and Home, Red, The Daily Mail, Woman and The Sunday Times.

She speaks regularly at Literary Festivals, libraries, WIs and charity events, talking about her career and the inspiration for her novels.

Veronica lives by the sea in North Devon and starts most days with a walk on the beach with her dog, Zelda. Her three sons are all grown up now and come and go with the tide. Happiness to her is the French windows open, a Negroni in her hand, some music and a few friends or family round the table.
