My Tuesday post where I’ll ‘tease‘ you with the cover, blurb, and first paragraph of one of the titles from my own TBR.
This book is a title I received from Lake Union Publishing via
NetGalley and I look forward to reading it soon.
Today, Tuesday April 18, 2023 I want to introduce one of the ARCs on my TBR.
This novel will be published on May 1, 2023
“A sweeping, emotional tale of hope and perseverance, Swan Light weaves together the stories of two people separated by a century but connected by family, purpose, and one extraordinary lighthouse.”
Publisher: Lake Union Publishing (an imprint of Amazon Publishing)
ISBN: 9781662507434 – 271 pages

1) The Newfoundland setting – I’m always eager to read novels set in the Atlantic provinces.
2) The lighthouse itself. I grew up only a few miles from a famous lighthouse and feel an affinity for them and their history.
3) The dual time line with the family connection.
4) This is a debut novel and I always enjoy discovering new authors. I find it interesting that this author is an American, but she set her first novel in an Atlantic Canadian province.
Swan, 1913
“Silvestre Swan’s earliest memory was of losing something to the sea.
His mind filled in years later what must have come before that memory: another bitter spring morning restocking in St. John’s, wharves salt-slick and thrumming with creaks and shouts and splashes, harbour air heavy with the almond taste of ice.”
Is this a title that you would consider adding to your TBR pile?
Why, or why not?
Let me know in the comments.
The setting is what calls to me. I hope you love it, Lynne.
